Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 30 Sept. 1909.

Mrs. Patrick Liddy was born in the County of Clair, Ireland, in the year 1818, and was married to Patrick Liddy in 1837, and to them nine children were born, eight of them, with the husband, having preceded her to the world beyond. They came to America in 1846 and located in Vermont and in 1848 moved to Chicago. In 1850 they came to Clayton county and located on a farm in Read township, and in 1857 came to Boardman township.

She lived until Thursday evening, September 23rd, and at 6:30 she peacefully passed away after a lingering illness, the effects of a broken limb. She leaves one son, Frank Liddy, of this city, who, with a number of grandchildren, was by her bed side at her death.

The funeral services were held Sunday at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Father Reilly officiating. The long line of teams that followed her remains went to show the esteem in which she was held by her neighbors and old friends. May she rest in peace.

Bridget Liddy has a gravestone in St. Joseph's, Elkader
