F. D. Mueller was born in Hanover, Germany Nov. 20th, 1830. He was married to Louise Borcherdings in 1856, and after residing a number of years in the old country he came with his family to America and settled in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa. After residing there a few years he moved to Garnavillo township, where he lived on the same farm continually for forty years and until his death on March 30th. He leaves to mourn his death his aged wife and seven children, one child having preceded him in death in 1900. The children are as follows: Mrs. Caroline Stutheit, of Cook, Nebr.; Mrs. Minnie Kahle, of Guttenberg; Fred H., of Garnavillo; G. J., of Manly; Wm. F. C., of Read; Henry J., at home; and Mrs. Anna Backhaus, of Manly, Iowa, besides twenty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was held last Friday afternoon at Garnavillo at St. Peter's church, Rev. Burkhard officiating.
