Elizabeth Koch was born in the Province of Saxony Feb. 12th, 1821, and departed this life Feb. 24th, 1909, thus bringing her earthly life to a close at the ripe age of 88 years and 12 days.

She was united in marriage to Peter Koch in 1856 with whom she lived forty-six happy years. Her husband preceded her in death seven years ago. They came to the United States in 1869 and settled on a farm in Read Township, where she lived till her death.

She is survived by two daughters, Louisa, the wife of Chas. Mecklenburg, and Clara, the wife of Robt. Scherf, and also by nine grandchildren. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church Friday Rev. Burkhardt officiating.
