Elkkader Register & Argus, 21 Jan. 1909.

Peter Hennes was born in Goesdorf, County Wiltz, Luxemburg, Germany, on the 20th day of May in the year 1939 and died in this city Sunday evening in his 70th year.

Deceased came to the United States in 1868, stopping in Chicago, where he was united in marriage with Katherine Hennes the same year, and they came to Clayton county in 1871, where he has since resided. Three sons were born to them, one dying in infancy, the other two are John, of this city, and Jos., of Madison, Wis.

Funeral services were held Monday in St. Joseph's church, conducted by Rev. J. F. Reilley. Interment in the Catholic cemetery. Relatives and friends were present and paid their last tribute of respect to the departed.
