On Saturday morning, Jan. 2nd, 1909, after a very brief illness, Mrs. Chas. F. Schoch passed away.
Fredereka Sucke was born Oct. 12, 1855, at Mecklenburg, Germany, and emigrated to this country with her parents when quite young, settling in Clayton county.
On Seot. 6th, 1875, she was united in marriage to Charles F. Schoch at Elkader. To this union eight children were born, Mrs. Rose Monlux, of Wagner twp.; Fred C. Schoch, of Cedro Wooley, Wash.; Martha, of Chicago; Carl, of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Geo. Lenth, Will and Louisa, of Elkader; and Minnie, who died April 24th, 1885, with the exception of whom, all survive her. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Henry Musfelt and Mrs. Fred Waterman, of Volga township, and Mrs. Aug Benschneider, of Cox Creek township.
The deceased was a faithful companion and helpmate, a loving and devoted mother, who will be sadly mourned and missed by her family and other relatives and many friends.
The funeral services were held at the house on Monday afternoon, conducted by Revs. Dickey and Franke, and she was laid to rest in the East Side cemetery.
