Miss Augusta Ernestine Louise Fritz, was born in Elk township Sept. 25, 1885, was baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran church at Elkport Oct. 23, 1885. After being duly instructed by her pastor, Rev. G. Fritschel, she was confirmed April 8, 1900. She spent most of her days in Volga township, always working for others, but the last 13 years she took care of her aged parents. Her last illness was only of short duration of four weeks, in which time she received medical attention but kept growing worse. The end was inevitable. She passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 9th, 1934, at 10:30, reaching the age of 49 years, two months and 14 days. Peace be to her ashes.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her aged parents, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Jaster, Elkport, Mrs. Golda Mae Noggle, Elkport, and Mrs. Ida Shaw, Greeley; two brothers, Louie of Elkport and Henry of Littleport.
Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased Dec. 12, 1934, at 1 p.m., with burial at the Union cemetery at Littleport, Iowa, the Rev. F. E. Damm in charge.
