The death of William Buechner, age 69 years, occurred Tuesday morning following a paralytic stroke. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Emanuel's Lutheran church conducted by Rev. M. O. Jahr. The Misses Edith Wesender and Helene Jahr sang two duets. The pall bearers were Phin Weig, Ernest Opperman, Henry Bartels, William Rieniets, John Brockens and Joe Bierrer. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemeteery.
Mr. Buechner was born at Racine, Wis., Sept. 24, 1864. He was united in marriage to Miss Henrietta Imlan of Strawberry Point in 1890. Mr. Buechner was a blacksmith here for a number of years. He was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor. His work here on earth is done but his many acts of kindness will never be forgotten. He is survived by his heart broke wife and four children: Mrs. Earl (Myrtle) Conboy and Mrs. Harold (Irene) Rodofer, both of Clinton, Miss Agnes at home and Raymond Buechner of St. Paul; also two grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
