After this Mr. Heuer sold his farm close to Clayton Center and retired to Guttenberg, where he spent 18 years. A few years ago he took up farming again on the other side of Farmersburg. His death was caused by a sun-stroke on July 20th, 7:30.

A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Blume, and a brother, Wm. Theodor, preceded him in death. Mr. Heuer's whole lifetime was 76 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Those mourning are his children, relatives and friends: Mrs. Wm. Ihlenfeld and family, Farmersburg; Mrs. Ernest Ihlenfeld and family, Farmersburg; Mrs. Harry Schievelbein and family, of Farmersburg; Otto Heuer and family, Lansing, Iowa; Arno Heuer, Garnavillo; Paul Heuer and family, Milwaukee, Wis.; and Mrs. Horace Larson and family, Monona; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of Mr. Ihlenfeld and in the Lutheran Zion's church at Clayton Center. Interment was made at the old cemetery, the Rev. Berthold F. Korte officiating.
