Her son Valmah is a musician of unusual talent. He sacrificed his work and many pleasures in order to be with his mother and to minister to her every want. She had been ailing for several years and for this reason led a rather secluded life. She was a lover of nature and spent much time in communion with nature among an abundance of beautiful flowers that were always blooming in her home and yard. There she found her greatest pleasure. She was also a great lover of children and was very happy among them. She said, "I have sacrificed everything for my son, and now my son is sacrificing everything for me."
Her condition became critical during the last few months, and at 7 o'clock Tuesday morning, June 26th, she departed this life in the arms of her son who was ever faithful even unto death.
The deceased was beloved by her fellow citizens and she will be missed by all who knew her. Deceased is survived by her son Valmah of Elkader, by a sister, Mrs. Linnie W. Eckart, and a brother, August H. Borman, both of Guttenberg, by a number of relatives and by a large host of friends.
