ELKPORT: Mark Watson Lovett, youngest son of Mark W. and Hannah Lovett, was born in Elk township near Elkport, Oct. 3, 1853, and passed away May 8, 1934. He had been ill for several months and confined to his bed most of the time since December 1, 1933. He was very patient during his illness. He grew to manhood at the place of his birth. On Nov. 15, 1883, he married Miss Emma Cole of Colesburg. One child, Vinnie Lovett, was born to this union. They went to housekeeping on a farm near Strawberry Point, where they lived for about eight years, then moving to a farm northeast of Colesburg, where he lived 31 years, moving to Colesburg in 1922. His wife preceded him in death Sept. 14, 1918.
Mr. Lovett was a member of the M.E. church of Colesburg. He is survived by one daughter, 12 nephews, ten nieces and a number of other relatives and friends. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
The funeral services were held from the M.E. church Thursday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. C. Nothdurft. Interment was made at the Brown cemetery.
