LUANA: Our neighbor, Mrs. A. C. Ames, after several weeks of suffering with heart difficulties, passed away at her home in Luana early Friday morning, April 27th, at the age of 71 years. She was the mother of 13 children, one dying in infancy. Those surviving her are: Mrs. Mae Jones of Delevan, Wis., Mrs. Tressa Koth of Guttenberg, Mrs. Iva Snitker and Mrs. Alice Dull of Monona, Mrs. Agnes Walter and Miles Ames of Elgin, Charles Ames of Springfield, Wis., Floyd and Austin of Waukon, Amos of Postville, Verames of West Union, and Orin of Waterville. These, besides the aged husband, and 27 grandchildren, and a brother, Wm. Schred of Prairieville, Wis., remain to mourn her passing. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the home, at two o'clock, Rev. Louis H. Joslin, pastor, officiating, with burial in the Luana cemetery.
