Otto Knoebel, 74, died at his home, 620 Seventh street SE, at 3 p.m. Tuesday after a month's illness.
Born in McGregor he came to Cedar Rapids in 1900 and had resided here since. For twenty-five years he was a switchman. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Surviving are three sons: William, Walter and Clarence, all of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Wallace of Chicago, Mrs. Alfred Gaskill and Mrs. Walter Moscript, both of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Paul Freibel, Cedar Rapids; a brother, Ed Knoebel, McGregor; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Immaculate Conception church at 9 a.m. Thursday conducted by Msgr. John Molloy. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Barta chapel where friends may call Wednesday evening.
