Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Kuecker, nee Doris Bruening, 76 years old, were conducted by the Rev. Wm. Adix, Jr., of Manchester, at St. John's Lutheran church in Guttenberg on Wednesday afternoon, with interment in the city cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near. Mrs. Kuecker was born in Germany, coming to America when 12 years old and settling in this community, where the remainder of her ambitious and true Christian life was spent. She died at her farm home in Jefferson township on February 2, 1934, having been in poor health for some time previous to her death.

In 1878 she was married to Mr. Henry Kuecker, who preceded her in death in 1913. She is survived by five children, Mrs. Wm. Kregel of Guttenberg; Mrs. H. H. Borcherding and Henry Kuecker of Jefferson township; Mrs. H. F. Bischoff of Waverly and Mrs. W. H. Borcherding of Strawberry Point; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Bruening, of Jefferson township; and many other relatives and friends by whom this good and true mother and friend will be sadly missed.
