At his home in Boardman township Tuesday evening, at 6:20, after an illness of some five weeks, Nicholas Willmes passed away, at the age of 81 years and 12 days.
He was born in Kandorf, Luxemburg, County Witts, Germany, Dec. 7th, 1824. He came to America in company with his parents, four brothers and two sisters, in the spring of 1857. They located in Chicago and in March, 1858, came to Luxemberg, Dubuque County. Three years later, with his parents and two brothers, Domonick and Peter, he came here and located on the farm where he died. He never married. He leaves to mourn his departure two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Toutsch and Mrs. Peter Miller, with numerous nephews and nieces. His brother Domonick died in 1897 and Peter in 1898. Deceased was a quiet, industrious man, highly respected by all who knew him. By his death we have lost a good citizen.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's church.
