Elkader Register, Thur., 26 Oct. 1905. Strawberry Point column.

Once more death visited our community and Saturday took from us a much beloved woman, Mrs. John Hock, after several weeks of sickness. She was ever ready to do a good deed for any one. She leaves a husband, ten children, the youngest a babe four weeks old, besides relatives and friends to mourn her death. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at St. Sebald, Tuesday, Rev. G. Fuehr officiating. The sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved ones.
