Elkader Register, Thur., 12 Oct. 1905. Strawberry Point column.
Burton, the only child of R. C. Barnes and wife, of Delhi, was brought here a few days ago sick with cholera infantum and was under the care of Dr. Howard. The little one was quite sick and everything that could be done for him was done, but he passed away at Dr. Howard's home Friday evening. Burton Barnes was born at this place August 1, 1903, and died Oct. 6, 1905, aged two years, two months and five days. Words can not express the comfort and joy the little one brought into this home, but now the little voice is stilled and the parents, whose hearts are aching with grief look for him, but alas his voice is stilled forever. Funeral services were held in the Howard home, conducted by Rev. Dean and the remains laid to rest in the local cemetery. The sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved parents and relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Barnes', little son Barton, who had been ill for about two weeks, was taken to Strawberry Point Friday of last week, thinking that a change might benefit him, but the little one passed away Friday evening. He was an only child, and a bright and loveable little fellow, aged two years. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes have the sympathy of an entire community, in this great sorrow.
