Houska, Anna 1823 - 1905

Elkader Register, Thur., 09 Mar 1905. Strawberry Point column.

The death of Grandma Houska occurred last Wednesday evening at the home of her son John, who resides south of town. She has been confined to her room for a number of years, but was always patient and kind until Death came as a relief to her. Her husband preceded her to the home beyond a number of years ago. She leaves three sons to mourn the loss of a kind and faithful mother. The funeral occurred last Friday, Father Hartigan officiating, and the remains were laid to rest beside the husband in the Sacred Heart cemetery. Our sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones.

(Note: WPA records indicate Anna Houska, 1823 - 1905, buried in the Cox Creek Sacred Heart Cemetery, See also the gravestone photo on the IGPP.)
