Fredereke Meyer died Feb. 15th, 1905, after being in feeble health for some time. She was born in Kirch Kogel, Mecklenburg, Germany, May 1st, 1821, making her 83 years, 9 months and 15 days old at the time of her death. She was married in 1849 to Henry Meyer and she leaves behind her three children: Mrs. Augusta Zahrndt, of Elkader; and W. E. and Henry, of this place, her husband having died several years ago. She came to America in 1859 and settled in Clayton county where she has resided ever since. She was of a good wholesouled, generous and kind disposition, and always was a great helper among the sick, always ready to respond to a call. She had been around among the different families so much in sickness that she was indeed a friend and mother to them all. A good soul has gone to its reward and our wish is that it may rest in peace.
