Elkader, Thur., 16 Feb. 1905. Local News columns.
The last issue of the McGregor Times contains the notice of the death of Mrs. Joseph Wilson, who died Feb. 7th, at the age of 81 years. She was born at Litchfield, Ohio, April 24th, 1824.
She came to Iowa in 18_9, and for a time lived at LaCrosse. She was among the early settlers of Clayton county, and will be remembered by Elkader people for her many eccentricities.
She had several husbands, the last being Mr. Wilson. She has been helpless the past two years, having suffered a stroke of paralysis. The funeral was held at McGregor on Wednesday last, Rev. V. E. Hall officiating.
The writer knew the deceased many years under the name of Mrs. Stence and Mrs. VanSickle.
