Elkader Register, Thur., 10 Nov. 1904. Strawberry Point column.

The death of Mrs. Carpenter, an old and respected citizen, occurred at the home of her son, Alex, north of town Saturday. Funeral held at the home of her son, Alex, Monday, Rev. DePuy officiating.

(Note: WPA records indicate Mary Carpenter, 1824 - 05 Nov. 1904, buried in Ross cemetery. See also the IGPP gravestone photo.)
