Elkader Register, Thur., 29 Sept. 1904. Colesburg column.

Samuel Payton, of Millville, was buried Friday. His death was due to an accident. While blasting with dynamite he was struck on the head by a rock, lapsing into unconsciousness soon after and remaining so until he died. He was the father of Pearl Payton who spent several months here during the winter of 1901 and 1902.
