James E. Probert a former resident of this vicinity died at his home in Wisconsin, Aug. 23rd, 1904, after a lingering illness. The remains were brought to Volga for burial on Thursday of last week. Rev. Elwick preached the sermon in the Presbyterian church in the absence of the regular pastor. Mr. Probert was about forty years of age and leaves a wife, father, three sisters, three brothers and many friends to mourn his loss. He was the son of James Probert of this place and was noted for his piety and the uprightness of his character.
