from the Thurs., 8 July 1915 issue of "Register and Argus" (Elkader, IA), page 3, column 4:
After an illness of three years death claimed Miss Nellie Liston, Saturday morning, at 6:30 o’clock, at the family home, 197 Locust Street, Dubuque. The deceased was born and reared in Clayton county, and for the past nineteen years Dubuque had been her home. She was a devout Catholic, and a woman whose patient life under a cross of ill health made her example a beautiful one. Her death is mourned by one sister, Mary, and two nieces and a nephew, living at Elkader. The funeral was held Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock, in the Cathedral, and the body was shipped to Garnavillo for burial.

The remains of Miss Nellie Liston, who died of Bright’s disease at Dubuque, were brought here for burial in the Catholic cemetery Monday afternoon.

Those who accompanied the remains of Miss Liston from Dubuque were Miss Mary Liston and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Weigand [Wiegand] of Dubuque, Misses Agnes Molumby, Anna Rourke and Mrs. C. Keleher and children of Elkader. The Elkader people had been at Dubuque and all returned to Dubuque in the evening.
