Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Apr. 1904. Strawberry Point column.
Last Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Flora Smith, occurred the death of Mrs. Adeline Cooper, aged 82 years. Adeline Rankin was born at Hampton, Mass. At an early age she was united in marriage to George Cooper, at Brownhelm, Ohio. To this union were born nine children, three preceding their mother to that home above. The six remaining are: Mrs. Belle Dunning, Anson Cooper, Mrs. Flora Smith and Chas. Cooper, all of this place, Mrs. Cooley and George Cooper, of Brownhelm, Ohio. Mr. Cooper died about ten years ago. Mrs. Cooper has lived here for about twenty years and was a kind and obliging neighbor and friend. She was ever willing to do anything for those in trouble or in distress. Short funeral services were held at the Smith home Friday, conducted by Rev. Frederick Dean, and in the evening the remains were shipped to Brownhelm, Ohio. Those who accompanied the remains were Anson and Charley Cooper, Mrs. Dunning and son William, and Mrs. Smith. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in their hour of trouble, but the parting is only for a short time.
