Elkader Register, Thur., 24 Mar. 1904.

At the family residence in Highland township Monday evening, March 21st, occurred the death of Mrs. J. L. Boland, after an extended illness from that dread disease, consumption.

Jane Orr, daughter of Mr. Fred Orr, was born in Highland township, June 17th, 1857. In 1878 she was united in marriage with J. L. Boland. She is survived by the husband , five sons, John, James, William, Clem and Fred and one daughter, Agnes. They are all at home. She is also survived by her aged father, now in his 94th year, and other relatives.

Deceased was a faithful companion, a beloved mother and a devoted Christian.

The funeral was held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's church and was largely attended by sorrowing friends and neighbors. Rev. Father Minogue, of Elkport, celebrated a requiem mass for the departed.
