We are very sorry to report the death of the little girl of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ortman of Elk township, aged about five years. The little sufferer was taken sick Thursday night with that dread disease, membraneous croup, and died Saturday noon. Every effort was made to save the life of the dear child. The best of medical aid assisted by parents and kind friends did all known to human skill, but was of no avail. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of hosts of friends in the death of their beloved child. The funeral took place Monday and was very largely attended, Rev. Hertel officiating.
