Elkader Register, Thur., 10 Mar. 1904. Garnavillo column.

The angel of death entered the home of William Putzier and wife, near Clayton, Monday evening, Feb. 29th, and took unto his fold the youngest son at the tender age of 2 years and 10 months, after a several weeks illness of lung fever. Funeral was held at this place Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Their, of Clayton. Our heartfelt sympathy is with the bereaved ones.

Note: The New Garnavillo Cemetery Burial & Lot record book, has an entry for Ines Putzier, aged 2y 10m 22d; died 2/29/1904
