Mrs. Elizabeth Niblock Palmer was born in Allamakee County July 30, 1860, where she lived until her marriage to E. M. Palmer, of this place, in 1879. She was the mother of ten children, seven sons and three daughters, one son being dead, while the rest, with her husband are left to mourn her death. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister. The greater part of her married life has been spent in Elkader, but a few months since moved to a farm near Mederville. She has been a faithful wife and loving mother and her family are stricken with grief at her loss. She was taken suddenly ill with acute pneumonia Tuesday night, Feb. 23d, and although medical assistance was obtained, she passed quietly away while sleeping, on Thursday at 10:00 o'clock a.m., Feb. 25th.
The funeral was held at Mederville, Saturday afternoon, Rev. M. Wing officiating. Interment in the Mederville cemetery. The family extend their heartfelt thanks to the friends and neighbors who assisted in the burial of their loved one.
