Elkader Register, Thur., 04 Sept. 1902.

Mrs. Mary Meyers.

The widow of Jos Meyers, formerly of this county, died Friday evening at the residence of her daughter, Miss Lucy in Dubuque. Deceased was about 77 years of age. She was born in Alsace, Germany, and had been a resident of this state for forty-four years. She is survived by eight children, Mrs. Artu_, of Dubuque: Mrs. Turner, of California; Miss Lucy Meyers, of Dubuque; Mrs. Ohlekoph, of Dubuque; Mrs. Marble, of Dubuque; Mrs. Linhardt, of Fayette county. Her remains were brought to Elkader for burial. The funeral was held Tuesday morning, at St. Joseph church, Rev. Father Roe, of Strawberry Point, officiating. The deceased was an aunt of Mrs. Frank Hofer, Mrs. Otto Hartman and Nic Meyers, of this place.

(Note: It appears some surviving children were not named in this obit. Submitter has no explanation.)
