Elkader Register, Thur., 17 July 1902. McGregor column.
Monday morning the body of a man was found floating near the river bank just below town. The body was nude and from appearances it was judged that it had been in the water four or five days. No marks of identification were found and no clue to his name or place. He was buried in the potter's field, and descriptions have been sent to all points up the river with a view to finding his friends.
