Elkader Register, Thur., 01 May 1902. Edgewood column.

Friday morning occurred the death of uncle Johnnie Hesner living west of town. The deceased was well along in age and for some time has been complaining, but was not taken to his bed until about two weeks before his death. The funeral was held at his home at ten a.m., Sunday, April 27, interment taking place in the Strawberry Point cemetery. He leaves a number of relatives and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
