We regret to say that August Rickoff, of Read, died last night, of pneumonia. The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., at Clayton Center.

August Rieckhoff died of pneumonia, after an illness of little over a week, at his home in Read township Wednesday, Feb. 26th, aged 49 years, having been born on the same day in 1853.

Mr. Rieckhoff was a native of Griezwald, Mecklenberg-Schwerin, emigrated to this country in 1875 worked as a wagonmaker in Elkader and Clayton Center for several years and then began farming. He was married to Katherine Lucas, Dec. 2, 1877, their union being blessed by eleven children of whom seven are living.

Formerly a member of Bismarck Lodge of Workman, he was at his death a member of the local lodge of Yeomen having a $2,000 policy which will be a blessing to the family. August Rieckhoff was a good citizen highly respected by his neighbors and friends, a hard working man who strove for the best for his family and his death is widely regretted.

The funeral was held at Clayton Centre Saturday, Rev. Seifert officiating.
