Elkader Register, Thur., 27 Feb. 1902. Strawberry Point column.

Mrs. Bartlet [sic] died at her home Sunday morning after a week's illness. The funeral services were held Tuesday.

Sarah Francis, oldest child of David and Julyan Connor, was born at Beaver, Penn., Feb. 17th, 1836.

In the spring of 1847 her father and family came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Delhi they being among the first of that place. The log-cabin built by her [sic] in 1847 is still preserved.

On Dec. 25th, 1871 she was united in marriage to William H. Bartlett, of this place.

Mr. Bartlett at that time, had a family of three children, by a former wife; Mark Emery now deceased, Elmer E. who lives on the old homestead and Mrs. Julia Bemis of this place.

The fruit of this marriage were two children, Willie M. and Harriet E., of this place.

Her husband died [illegible] 19, 1899. Since then, she and her daughter, Harriet, have made their home i this place, until her death which occurred Sunday morning, Feb 23, 1902, aged 66 years and 6 days.

In early life she united with the Congregational church in which faith she died. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U.

Of a family of six sisters and one brother she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Helen Benson of Pierson, Iowa; Mrs. Julia Strothers of Hubbard and Mrs. Rosa Joslyn of Manchester, all of whom were present at her funeral which was held at her home, Tuesday Feb. 25.
