Elkader Register, Thur., 13 Feb. 1902.

Dora Brabrandt, nee Steudel, was born Mar. 11th, 1817, at Kleinbeuster, Province Saxony in Prussia. She died at the home of her son-in-law John Becker, in Cox Creek twp., on Feb. 10, 1902.

On Oct. 1st, 1835, she was married to Dietrich Brabrandt. In 1875 the deceased, with her husband, came to America, to be united with their children who crossed the ocean years before them. Three children were born to them, two daughters and one son. The daughters are: Mrs. Fred Preuss, of Sperry twp.; and Mrs. John Becker, of Cox Creek twp. Her husband died about eight years ago. She leaves twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, at the Congregational church, Rev. G. W. Baxter officiating.
