Fred Funk and wife have the sympathy of all Luana and the entire community in their recent bereavement. Their little girl, who was scarcely three ears old, was taken ill with croup and only lived one day. They lost a baby two years ago with the same disease and now they have been called upon once more by the angel of death and their hearts are nearly broken.

Note: her inscription on a gravestone near the large Funk monument of her parents John F.C. & Lena, gives Milda's dates 1899-1901. The published death notice implies the child died recently, but not necessarily in 1902. An infant brother Leslie, 1900-1900 is also noted on a nearby stone.
