Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Nov. 1879.

DIED- At East Elkport, Sunday, Nov. 16th, 1879, Edna, daughter of W. E. and Aglla T. Talmadge, aged 3 years, 1 month and 15 days.

The pure are God's own. Maturity is in His hands. The tender grass-blade and sturdier oak alike may fall ere the fullness of their bloom; this is God's tribute enacted from all living organism. Hearts are crushed ! Ont of the struggle we come with purer purposes, higher aspirations, we draw nearer to Him. She is there. We drop tear-bedowed flowers on the casket. It is not in human nature to suppress all grief. But we do - we do submit. Bear her away.

Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock; a large number of people and the A.O.U.W. attended the funeral. J. W. Shannon, of Elkader, made a few appropriate remarks at the grave. The family have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
