VANALSTINE, VAN ALSTINE

Elkader Register, Thur., 13 Nov. 1879.

Last Saturday morning, Christ. Vanalstine, an inmate of the County Poor House, was found dead in his bed, having died suddenly during the night of heart disease, with which he was afflicted. The deceased was 40 years of age. Some four or five weeks ago, Vanalstine, his wife and four children were placed in the poor house by the trustees of Lodomillo township, they being in destitute circumstances. This new affliction leaves his wife and four children to the tender mercies of our county officials.
