—All the Clayton County papers contain lenghty{sp} obituary notices of Col. S. G. Knee, of Colesburg. He was a member of Co. H. of the old 12th Iowa regiment; captured at Shiloh, and went through a siege of rebel prison pens, finally exchanged, and rose in service until at the close of the war he ranked as Lt. Colonel.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born March 11, 1834 and died Aug. 12, 1896. He is buried in the Brown Cemetery in Clayton County.
