Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Aug. 1879.

Philip Deusner, of Clayton, died at his home on last Saturday, after an illness of only a few weeks duration. The funeral on Sunday at Clayton cemetery was largely attended. Mr. Deusner was long a resident of Clayton township, was highly respected, a kind neighbor and friend. At the time of his death and for some past, he was the obliging landlord of the Clayton house.

Note: gravestone spells surname as DAUSENER
