Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Feb. 1879.

DIED - James Cooney, whose illness was mentioned by our Osborne correspondent last week, died of typhoid fever at the residence of James Ivory last Friday morning, Feb. 14th.

The funeral on Saturday was largely attended by relatives and friends. We learn that the deceased has never been married. He has resided in Cox Creek for many years and was respected as a good citizen and a kind neighbor.
