SCHRANK, SCHRUNK

Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Feb. 1879

DIED - Joseph Schrunk died at his home about 5 miles from Colesburg, in Mallory township, on Wednesday, Feb. 12th, aged 79 years, less two days.

Mr. Schrunk was born in Offena_, in the kingdom of Wurtenberg. He emigrated to this country in 1854, whil on the journey his wife died. He leaves seven daughters and two sons, all grown. Four of the daughters are in California, one in Minnesota and two in Clayton county. The boys are both residents of Clayton county. He was a sober industrious man, and leaves many friends to mourn his loss.

He is found on the 1860 U.S. census in Mallory twp. Enumerated as Charles Schrunk, age 60, b. Wirtemberg. Living in household of Charles Schrunk, age 32
