Elkader Register, Fri., 17 Sept. 1897. Volga City Views column.

On Monday, Sept. 13th, 1897, at 3 o'clock a.m., occurred the death of Harry Crain. He was born in Haddenham, Cambridge-Shire England, Oct. 25, 1869, came to America March 18, 1890. He was married to Eliza M. Cann February 17, 1897. His death was caused by internal injuries. While tying a corn shock last Friday the string broke and his feet suddenly slipped from under him and he fell back on the sharp stubs of the corn hill, one of them entering the urethra, resulting in hemorrhage and death. He was a young man of many good habits and highly respected by all. His young wife has the sympathy of the entire community in the great affliction cast upon her.
