Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Sept. 1899. Littleport column.
Henry O'Day, aged 16 years, died quite suddenly Saturday morning. It seems he was slightly under the weather and got medicine from the doctor the evening before, but at 12 o'clock was feeling better and went to sleep. At 4 o'clock his father went to him and found him dead. This is a sad affliction upon the family coming so suddenly as Henry was a model and promising young man. The funeral was held Sunday, Rev. Father Minogue officiating. The remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. The profound sympathy of all goes out to the sorrowing family.

Note: His inscription is on the same gravestone as his parents Michael & Margaret (Murphy) O'Day. He is named as Patrick Henry.
