Died at her home in Mallory twp., Clayton Co., Iowa, Aug. 9th, 1899, Mrs. Martha Riegel, wife of John F. Riegel, aged 44 years 4 months and two days.
Martha Lang, the deceased, was born near Elkhart, Ind., April 7th, 1855. She leaves to mourn her death an aged father, husband, four sons and six daughters: Joseph C., and William A., of Athol, S.D., Florence May, wife of James Porter, near Littleport, Iowa, M. Lulu, Norma L., Fred L., Mamie E., Anna D., Elmer L. and Ella Mildred at home.
Deceased joined the C.P. church about 25 years ago. Three years ago she united with the United Brethren church and remained a faithful member to the end. Thus has departed a true and faithful wife and mother, and above all she was true to her God. She bade the family goodbye, saying, "I am ready to go, I am sure of Heaven."
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. E. Hursch, who preached a deep and interesting sermon from Matthew 25, 23.
