Elkader Register, Thur., 25 May 1899. Volga City Views column.

Frank Boardman White, youngest son of Henry and Clara P. White, was born in Volga City, Iowa, January 21st, 1866, and died May 19th, 1899, aged thirty-three years.

He was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Copeland May 5th, 1892. He accepted Christ as his Saviour and joined the Presbyterian church in 1890. He served as one of the deacons of the church for several years, holding that office at the time of his death. Since 1892 he has been engaged in the general merchandise business. As a citizen he was public spirited, giving freely of his means, according to his means, to every good cause. He was always in his place at Sabbath School and church services and was an active member of the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor.

As a friend he was noble, true and generous. It is not believed that he had an enemy in the world. He was a kind, obedient son and devoted husband. Besides a wife, three brothers and a widowed mother, he leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his early decease.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. H. McCuskey, assisted by the M.E. pastor, Rev. Shiffer. The sermon was preached from Frank's favorite text, John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me."

The following friends were chosen as pall bearers: A. L. Moats, F. _. Andresen, Edw. White, A. W. Lee, C. E. Lovette and W. A. Smith. The funeral was very largely attended and it was with a sad heart that the friends and neighbors paid their last respects to the memory of the departed.
