Crefeld, Charles 1870 - 1929

Clayton County Register, Thur., 12 Dec. 1929.

Chas. Crefeld, son of Hubert and Isabelle Crefeld, was born at Clayton, Iowa, March 26, 1870, having reached the age of 59 years, eight months and 12 days at the time of his death, which occurred Sunday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m.

Charles lived at Clayton practically all his life and was engaged in the barber business, was employed by the Meuser Lumber Co., for the past few years, and was town assessor for a number of years. He had been in ill health for some time. He will be sadly missed in the community.

He leaves to mourn his death, one sister, Mary, and a half-brother, George Poesch, and other relatives. Three brothers preceded him in death. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon. Rev. G. J. Zeilinger officiated. Interment was made in the Clayton cemetery.
