Mrs. Emma (Stahl) Perry, the daughter of Carl and Christina Heiden Stahl was born in Boardman township December 25, 1871, and passed away at the Stockman hospital at Elkader, Oct. 15, 1929, being at the time of her death 57 years, nine months and 20 days of age.
Thirty-nine years ago she was united in marriage to Charles W. Perry, of Boardman township. To this union seven children were born. One, Mrs. Cleva Meisner, having preceded her mother in death seven years ago.
The surviving children are Mrs. Roy Hyde, Elkader; Mrs. Ray Benson, Elgin; and four sons, Lester, Merle, Forrest and Lorimer at home. There are also four grandchildren.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. D. C. Hale, of Elkader, and the following brothers, Louis, Mike, George and August, of near Elkader, and Ed. Stahl, who lives near Monona.
Services were held Thursday from her late home at 1:00 p.m., and at the Congregational church at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Albert S. Kilbourn officiating. Interment was made in the East Side cemetery.
A faithful and loving wife and mother leaves a place vacant that none other can fill.
