Clayton County Register, Thur., 01 Aug. 1929.
Wednesday, July 24th, 1929, occurred the burial of James McMorrow, a former resident on the old homestead near Elkport, Iowa.
James was one of the four sons of Martin and Mary McMorrow. He was duly baptized and accepted the faith of the Catholic religion in which rites he was attended by the faithful Father of Green Bay, Wis., where in St. Vincent hospital he had excellent care suffering from cancer, the malady now so feared.
In his dealings with men, he proved ever true and faithful as was seen when he at intervals visited the old homestead which he purchased after the death of his mother. According to his wish his body was brought home and laid in the Catholic cemetery, beside that of his mother.
His only sister, Delia (Mrs. Milton Place) and daughter Mary were with him the last three weeks and greatly cheered and comforted him.
Besides her, he leaves one brother, John, at North Kaukauna, Wis., Peter of Tigerton, Wis. His other brother (Mike) preceded him in death several years ago and his father died when the children were quite young.
Rev. Father Goetzinger, of the Catholic diocese of Garber, conducted the funeral rites and Rev. Father Thole of Luxemburg, Ia., was also present. May he receive the rest he so much deserved ! The choir rendered fine selections at the church. - Contributed.
