Mrs. Paulina Jacobs, nee Poesch, was born January 23rd, 1882, at Clayton, Iowa, and died Sunday, April 28th, 1929. She was the daughter of Henry and Clara Poesch. She was married to Freeman Jacobs in 1907 at Clayton, Ia., always residing in and near Clayton. About a year ago she suffered with the dreaded flu of which she never fully recovered. Two months ago she went to Iowa City but did not get any relief, returned home two weeks ago and passing away so suddenly that it was a great shock to relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn her departure her aged mother, husband and six children, Wanda, Clara, Pearl, June, Edna and Charles, two little children preceded her in death, George and Mary Jane. Three brothers, George of Rock Island, Walter of Clayton, Herbert of Guttenberg, and also other relatives and friends. Pauline was of a quiet disposition making friends with all. She will be sadly missed especially in the home with those little children. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon in the church of Pearl. Rev. G. J. Zeilinger officiating the burial in Clayton cemetery.
