Gruel, Christiana 1846 - 1929

Clayton County Register, Thur., 14 Feb. 1929. Luana column.

Last Tuesday Herman Gruel received word that his mother, who was making her home with her son William and family, south of Monona, was stricken with a stroke. She passed away Sunday morning at the age of 82 years, four months and 28 days. She leaves four sons, Herman of Luana, Will of Monona, John of Postville, Henry of Farmersburg. Seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Farmersburg Lutheran church. Interment was made in the Garnavillo cemetery beside her husband.

(Note: WPA records indicate Christiana Gruel, 1846 - 10 Feb. 1929, buried in Garnavillo cemetery.)
